NLEX General Assembly 2019: JLLB Addresses the Organization as New President and GM

Last February 26, 2019, Mr. J. Luigi L. Bautista (JLLB), the newly appointed President and  General Manager of NLEX Corporation, delivered his first report to the assembly of around 1,400 NLEX Corporation employees in both morning and afternoon sessions of the company’s General Assembly held at Royce Hotel and Casino in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

JLLB started his report with a discussion of the company’s vision and mission, and core values which he stated to have strengthened his dedication to provide the best leadership as a returning officer. Our President and GM continued with an update on the company’s revenue. He mentioned that there was a 22% increase in revenue from 2017 to 2018 which amounts to Php 13.2Bn. He proudly declared that, “at the MPTC level – our contributions to our mother company are extremely significant. In 2018 alone, we contributed 78% of MPTC’s core income.” Also, he discussed the opening of the Segment 10 Project, and groundbreaking for the NLEX Connector Road last February 28. JLLB also mentioned the several initiatives of the company such as 4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX), Outward Mindset, OneLife, Business Excellence and Talent Development programs that will help us meet our corporate targets.

The General Assembly continued with updates from MPTC President and CEO Rodrigo Franco who discussed MPTC’s financial status, centers of excellence, and 5-year plan of doubling the core income to PhP 11.7 Bn in 2023. A Q&A session followed where NLEX Management Committee members answered several questions raised by employees about payroll and compensation, uniform, and individual performance appraisal, among others. A send-off to the MVPO delegates of MPTC concluded the General Assembly, where employees were encouraged to support our athletes in the MVPO to be held on March 1 to 3, 2019 at Meralco Compound in Ortigas.
