How to survive “Survival Mode”?

Survival mode generally refers to a state of intensified alertness and adjustment to challenging or adverse circumstances. Transitioning from survival mode to thriving mode involves moving from a state of merely coping with challenges to actively seeking growth, improvement, and a higher quality of life. Here are some general steps and considerations that we could take to shift from survival to thriving:

Assess and Acknowledge: Reflect on the current situation and identify the key factors that have led to a survival mindset. Acknowledge the challenges and obstacles that need to be overcome.

Set Clear Goals: What do you want? Define specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. Identify what thriving looks like for you and break down these goals into manageable steps.

Prioritize Well-being: Shift focus from immediate survival needs to overall well-being. This includes physical, mental, and emotional health. Establish healthy habits, self-care routines, and stress management practices.

Build a Support System: Surround yourself with a positive and supportive network. Seek guidance from families, mentors, friends, or colleagues who can provide insights, advice, and encouragement.

Take Strategic Risks: Thriving often involves taking calculated risks. Identify opportunities for growth and improvement and be willing to step out of your comfort zone. Evaluate risks and rewards before making decisions.

Cultivate a Positive Mindset: Shift from a mindset of scarcity to one of abundance. Focus on positive thinking, gratitude, and resilience. Celebrate small victories and use setbacks as learning opportunities.
