#Trending: BUHAY AY DI KARERA 🌸

By Alex M. Sevilla

Maybe you have heard Pantropiko and Salamin Salamin everywhere and non-stop during your doom scrolls online. Dubbed as the Nation’s Girl Group, BINI has captured the hearts of Filipinos and P-Pop fans abroad.

BINI is a Filipino pop girl group sensation featuring 8 multi-talented members: Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena. They debuted in 2021 under ABS-CBN’s Star Magic. The group was formed through ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy, where they have undergone vocal and dance training from 2018 to 2020.

Two years into their debut, BINI topped the iTunes Philippines chart and landed on Spotify’s RADAR Philippines playlist through their hit Pantropiko. The breakout success of this year’s summer theme song put the girls in their deserved spotlight as they continue to dominate the charts by holding multiple spots in the Billboard PH Top 10 with Salamin Salamin and Lagi. They also received nominations at the 37th Awit Awards for the song Pantropiko in various categories, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

BINI is also making waves internationally. They became the first P-Pop group to achieve the most monthly listeners on Spotify and the first to top the Billboard PH Songs chart. Their global reach extends further with their entry into the Top Artist Global Chart on Spotify and dethroning Taylor Swift on the Spotify Philippines’ Daily Top Artists chart.

Last 11 June 2023, they held BINI Day as a celebration of their 3rd year in the industry. Blooms gathered to have a chance to meet-and-greet the members of BINI and watch them perform.

Their first solo concert, BINIVerse, was originally scheduled for a one-night-only show, but it was extended to a three-day concert (28 – 30 June 2024) running due to high demand. All three nights were sold out. On Day 3 of BINIVerse, they announced that another show will be scheduled in October 2024 in Araneta Center.

With the versatile powerhouse members and the established fanbase, BINI’s future is blazing. There’s a comforting satisfaction in seeing hard work rewarded with deserved success. It took them almost 5 years to reach where they are right now. I would like to share my favorite song of theirs, Karera, which emphasizes finding your own rhythm, inner strength, and confidence. It has a powerful message that will remind us to prioritize our well-being, celebrate our individual journeys, and find strength within ourselves.
