IRONMAN is the highest pick of triathlon and for our Patrol Crew Ricardo ‘Ric’ Rontal, it was a dream come true to be part of two IRONMAN events here in the Philippines, one held on August 8, 2022, at Cebu CCLEX, and another on June 9, 2024, at Subic Bay.

PC Ricardo Rontal was from the Traffic Operations Department and had been in the company for nearly 20 years. He is an active member of NLEX Athletics Team headed by Mr. Pio Tumpang and NLEX Roadstar Multi Sports Club, a passionate runner, and has earned several awards in Duathlon and fun run events. He also regularly participated in various company sports activities which he consistently excelled.

Let’s hear some insight from PC Ric Rontal about his IRONMAN experience.

The triathlon is an endurance multisport race consisting of swimming, cycling, and running. As a sports enthusiast, I want to challenge myself and prove that if others can do it, I know I can. To be part of the Ironman competition is one of my dreams.

The most unforgettable experience I had with the Ironman race was the intense training required to prepare for the event. The preparation itself is both the hardest and most rewarding part, as it’s essential for enduring and completing the race.
