NORTHLINK: How to Foster a Family Vibe at Home and Workplace?
Creating a sense of family at home and work is essential for building trust, openness, and a supportive environment. Here’s how I approach this in my daily life:
Keeping a Family Vibe at Home
I aim to keep things light-hearted and open at home, especially with my four children. I encourage open communication so they feel comfortable sharing whatever is on their minds. My goal is for them to be happy, secure, and free of worry, while also instilling a sense of responsibility. This means encouraging them to achieve—even in small ways—so they grow confident in their abilities.
Though my schedule is busy, I prioritize staying connected with them. I make sure to call or message regularly, just to check in and show I’m here for them. It’s my way of ensuring they feel safe and supported, even when I’m not physically present.
Building a Family-Like Atmosphere at Work
In the workplace, I try to cultivate the same family spirit. I see my team as an extension of my family. I strive to create an environment where they feel comfortable and supported. I avoid putting anyone in overly tight situations to promote productivity and morale. By fostering open communication, my team members feel free to express their thoughts, ideas, and even concerns directly with me. This openness helps us address any pressures or misunderstandings that arise as we work towards our goals.
One of my priorities is to ensure that each team member feels valued as part of the team. They should feel they are not just employees. I encourage them to reach out to me for guidance. I also consult the team on decisions that impact our work. This approach helps build a strong sense of teamwork, where we all feel we’re contributing towards shared objectives.

Supporting Team Well-being
I am equally invested in my team’s well-being, especially when they’re out in the field. If I notice someone isn’t acting like themselves, I make an effort to understand what’s going on. Sometimes, addressing a personal issue can lift their spirits and help them refocus on their work. My goal is to create a positive environment that makes each person feel supported and understood.
Ultimately, I want everyone to see our department as an integral part of our company’s success. As part of the operations division, we’re often on the front lines, directly engaging with customers. By fostering a family vibe, I hope to show the team the value of their role and their contribution.
