WHAT IS MP2 (MODIFIED PAG-IBIG II) SAVINGS?
Pag-IBIG MP2 Savings is a voluntary longterm savings program under the Pag-IBIG Fund for members who want extra savings besides the mandatory Regular Savings. Launched in 2010, it offers higher, tax-free dividends, and operates on a 5-year maturity term.
Take note: 5-year maturity term.
WHO CAN JOIN?
Eligible participants include:
Active Pag‑IBIG members with at least one contribution within the past six months.
Former members (e.g., pensioners or retirees) with at least 24 monthly contributions before retirement. Yes, retirees can still save!
Natural-born Filipinos who reacquired citizenship under RA 9225 (Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act), with at least 24 contributions before migrating permanently.

HOW TO START YOUR MP2 SAVINGS? (Start earlier, bigger savings!)
How to Enroll?
Option 1: Online via Virtual Pag-IBIG
Go to Pag-IBIG’s MP2 enrollment page
Enter your MID number, name, birthdate, and classification
Upload your valid ID, selfie with ID, and supporting documents
Choose your monthly amount, dividend payout (annually or on maturity), and payment method
After submission, you’ll get your MP2 account number via email in 3–5 days
You can withdraw your dividends annually while keeping your principal savings until the 5-year maturity, or you can choose to receive the total amount (savings + dividends) after the full term.
However, some members suggest that it’s better to withdraw the dividends annually and re-deposit them as additional savings, either into MP2 again or into a separate savings account. This strategy allows you to maximize returns through disciplined reinvestment while keeping your funds more flexible.
Option 2: In-Person Enrollment
For those without internet access or tech-savvy skills
Visit any Pag-IBIG branch
Fill out Form PFF 226
Bring your valid ID and other necessary documents
CONTRIBUTION DETAILS
Minimum deposit: ₱500 per contribution. You can contribute monthly or make a one-time lump sum.
No maximum limit, but single deposits exceeding ₱500,000 must be via personal or manager’s check.
Payments can be made online (Virtual Pag‑IBIG, GCash, Maya, Coins.ph) or over the counter at branches and accredited partners.

HOW CAN YOUR MP2 SAVINGS GROW?
Dividend Rates & Returns
MP2 offers tax-free dividends—usually higher than regular savings—with rates based on the Pag‑IBIG Fund’s financial performance.
Example returns:
2023: 7.05%
2022: 7.03%
2021: 6.12%
Dividends may be withdrawn annually or compounded until maturity after 5 years.
Maturity and Withdrawals
MP2 maintains a 5-year lock-in period. Upon maturity, you may claim savings online via Virtual Pag‑IBIG or in person with the Provident Benefits form.
In certain cases like retirement, disability, or unemployment, early withdrawal before five years may be possible.
Sample Computation (Compounded Annually)
Assumptions:
Monthly contribution: ₱1,000
Dividend rate: 7.0% annually (rate may vary year to year)
Term: 5 years
Total cash out: ₱1,000 × 12 months × 5 years = ₱60,000
Now applying compound interest, here’s the projected total after 5 years:
Year
Annual Contribution
Accumulated Value (Estimated)
1
₱12,000
₱12,420
2
₱12,000
₱25,613
3
₱12,000
₱39,596
4
₱12,000
₱54,388
5
₱12,000
₱70,008
Total Contributions: ₱60,000
Estimated Earnings (Dividends): ₱10,008
Total MP2 Payout after 5 Years: ₱70,008
Note:
This is only an estimate. Actual MP2 earnings will depend on Pag-IBIG’s declared annual dividend rates (which vary yearly, historically between 6% and 8%).
If you choose the annual dividend payout option instead, the earnings will be slightly lower, since there’s no compounding.
