MVP Companies, We Got Your Vac

by Kim Santiago

The MVP Group, led by our Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, is among the private sector companies that procured vaccines for its employees. The MVP Group officially rolled out its vaccination program, “We Got Your Vac,” in July.

On July 2, the first batch of the Group’s employees were inoculated with Moderna vaccines at the Meralco Compound in Pasig City. The MVP Group Vaccine Task Force took charge of the process.

The launch site is one of several facilities that the Group has set up to administer all the vaccinations in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus area. The other sites are PLDT Sta. Ana in Manila and Maynilad Balara in Quezon City. Other sites to be activated by August are the Smart Tower in Makati and NLEX Sta. Rita in Bulacan.

For employees based outside NCR Plus, the MVP Vaccine Task Force will coordinate with member hospitals that operate under Metro Pacific Hospitals Holdings Inc. (MPHHI), which has the distinction of being the Philippine’s largest private health care network.

“Our vaccines, through the essential services we offer groupwide — from hospitals, telecommunications and digital services, electricity, water, tollways and road infrastructure, media and more — have been and will continue to be the key source of stability as the Philippines emerges from this global crisis,“ said Mr. Pangilinan. MPHHI hospitals’ target is to inoculate 700 to 1,350 employees per day.

In light of this development, we’ve asked some of our colleagues to share their vaccination experience.

Marlon Buenaventura, Technology Management

“This COVID-19 vaccination program offered by NLEX Corporation has really helped us to be more confident to face the everyday challenges at work. I am very thankful to NLEX Corporation for giving us this opportunity to get vaccinated.

It is an honor and a great privilege to be part of the MVP Group of Companies because they truly care for their people. Thank you for our jobs and for making sure that we are protected from health-related issues.”

Jaime Origen, Traffic Operations

“At first, I was hesitant about getting vaccinated. But I came to realize that getting vaccinated will not only help me get protected, but it will also shield my family members and co-workers from the infection.

I can now relax because I am fully vaccinated. My anxiety about being infected by the dreaded virus is gone. I feel good knowing that I am protected because that means I won’t be infecting my family members or my colleagues.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to our company for always giving the best care to all its employees.”

Hilde Mayor, Tollways Development & Engineering

“Isang pribilehiyo na matanggap ko ang unang dose ng vaccine. Sa ganitong paraan, tiwala ako na makakatulong ako sa pagpigil ng pagkalat ng COVID-19 Virus.

Nagpabakuna ako dahil mahal ko ang aking pamilya. May malasakit rin ako sa aking katrabaho at sa lahat ng mga tao na nakakasalamuha ko araw-araw.”

We still have a long way to go before we completely defeat this pandemic. What’s important is that with vaccinations underway, we can eventually attain herd immunity. The MVP Group continues to ensure that more vaccine doses arrive as scheduled during this pandemic. What’s important is that herd immunity is something that we can clearly look forward to, to provide more doses of vaccines and to arrive as scheduled.
