“Build a team so strong that they don’t know who the leader is.” This is our credo and the leadership principle of Compliance and Business Excellence Department Head, Ms. Hasmin Co. This ISO management systems and business process excellence expert may seem intimidating–with her strong personality and very high standards- but working closely with her will reveal how she appreciates every individual member and how she sees each one’s potential to be a leader.
Aside from her technical expertise, we see how she values her “anaks”. Just like a stage mother, she cheers on her team and celebrates wins- small and big wins, alike. She makes time for one-on-one conversations and provides timely constructive feedback. As a leader, Ms. Jas empowers each one to make decisions and act as needed and within the scope of the job. And, like a mom, she always has our back.
Since day 1, Ms. Jas has been consistent, in words and in actions, in believing in our team and building each member’s capabilities. We capitalize on individual strengths, manage our weaknesses as a team, and build on everyone’s potential. With her vision and clear direction, she’s able to bind the team together towards achieving our objectives, no matter how challenging they may seem. And with her leadership, everyone gets to be a leader in his/her own right.
Here’s how members of CBE appreciate the leadership of Ms. Jas:
Power isn’t control at all – power is strength and giving that strength to others. A leader isn’t someone who forces others to make stronger; a leader is someone willing to give their strength to others that may have the strength to stand on their own.
