Barista Coffee Shop Business Para Sa Ating Mga Dependents

Last April 26, 2024, dependents and family members of NLEX employees were invited for a learning session on starting a coffee shop business. Aligned to the Onelife program, we aim to help our employees achieve not just physical but also financial wellness by offering ways to improve their financial health.

The Sustainable Livelihood Workshop, under NLEXPRENEUR program, was organized in partnership with Negoeskwela and Tollways Multipurpose Cooperative. Such workshops are valuable ways to support the financial well-being of employees.

The discussion was comprehensive and covered topics from capital expenses and projection of investment, familiarization with tools and equipment, sources of materials, product forecasting and packaging, sanitation and hygiene, safety measures, up to costing of products. The participants also had a hands-on session where they were taught how to create espresso, hot and cold (frappe and blended) concoctions, and coffee/espresso flambe.

It was a unique and exciting learning experience for our participants. We hope that this will jumpstart their entrepreneurial journey and begin turning ideas into reality.

Watch out for the next topics this coming May: Korean Dishes and Kimchi Making, Specialty Meat Products, and Hydroponics.
