ODB Sta. Rita, Guiguinto Bulacan, a five-day activity was organized by Compliance and Business Excellence in celebration of ESH (Environment, Safety, and Health) Week. It highlighted the 5Ks Program: Katalinuhan, Kalusugan, Kaligtasan, Kalikasan, at Kalsada that signifies the commitment of NLEX Corporation to continual improvement of the acquired ISO Certifications for Environment (ISO 14001), Road Traffic Safety (ISO 39001), Occupational Safety and Health (ISO 45001).
It was packed with various activities and competitions that aimed to augment the involvement of employees.


ESH week commenced with a group quiz bee, “Pautakan 2.0” joined by 13 teams from different divisions. The mind-blowing game had 3 categories, easy, normal, and difficult round, and was composed of questions about legal and regulatory requirements, common practices, and other things about ESH-RTS.
An online chitchat, “Kalusugan Live Podcast” was done on the second day of the week-long event. It was hosted by Mr. Aldrin Oquendo and Mr. Ariel Abuzo, two nurses from the CBE. Three personalities were invited to talk and give some health advice.
Engr. Rene Timbang of the Department of Health discussed the importance of having a Healthy Workplace.

“When we said Health, we referred to hospitals, but the majority and most of the efforts in promoting health are through prevention. Prevention (can help in) improving health literacy and awareness of our health behavior” said by Engr. Timbang during the podcast.
Engr. Timbang was then followed by Mr. Asi Taulava of NLEX Road Warriors who shared some tips about Personal Well-being as a professional basketball player. And lastly, Ms. Lea Wong, the Senior Vice President of HRAD (Human Resources and Administration) shared some tips on her healthy lifestyle.

On the third day, the Rescue Olympics was unveiled for the first time as the Emergency Response Teams (ERT) from OMC, ODB, and TOCB competed to finish the obstacles the fastest.

Submitted entries of the Kampeon ng Kalikasan sa Makabagong Panahon were presented on the fourth day. Videos highlighted eco-friendly campaigns, programs, and practices of employees. Alongside the “Kalikasan” video-making contest, the awarding ceremony “Karangalan” was also conducted on the same day to honor the winners of all the contests. Here is the list of winners:

On the last day, an experiential tour was done at the Road Traffic Safety (RTS) Hub, Dau, Pampanga. It was participated by employees who were interested in experiencing the newly opened establishment intended to teach the public about the importance of knowledge of RTS.



Overall, the ESH was full of exhilarating, yet educational experiences intended for NLEX employees to raise awareness and commit to occupational safety, health, environmental sustainability, and road traffic safety.
