In celebration of the National Women’s Month, six women from various departments of NLEX Corporation were featured as Women of Excellence for their contributions to the company’s ISO management systems. A video was released by the Compliance and Business Excellence (CBE) department, showcasing the role and impact of these women not only their respective fields but to the organization as well.

For the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, Ms. Christine Joy “CJ” Chua of Toll Operations explains the importance of performing their job according to their standard operating procedure, which results in customer satisfaction.

Ms. Belle Bugador from Corporate Communication highlights their projects, which are closely aligned with the objectives of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. She shared how their Greening the NLEX project fostered a strong relationship with other organizations.

Regarding ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, Ms. Jasmin Feliciano from Compliance and Business Excellence discusses the importance of safeguarding employee well-being through the company’s introduced programs and activities.

Ms. Ansherina Roberto of Traffic Operations comprehensively explains the importance of data in driving the strategies and decision-making involved in the ISO 39001 Road Traffic Safety Management System, resulting in the reduction of road crash incidents and safer experience for the motorists.

In ISO 50001 Energy Management System, Ms. Hazel Calara of Electro-Mechanical, Auxiliary and Fleet Management (EMAF) gives details of their Electric Vehicle (EV) charger project, which is part of the improvements of their department for a more sustainable and eco-friendly transportation system of NLEX.

Lastly, for ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System, Ms. Grace Santos of Supply Chain Management – Central describes the crucial role of their job in the recovery of the operations in times of disruptions.
In the last part of the video, they were asked what Women’s Month meant to them. They underscore the contribution of every woman in society, despite the stereotype they are receiving, a woman can do what a man can do.
“It is a reminder na kaya ng mga babae na mag-take ng crucial role for driving social change. Para maging boses sa pagbabagong gusto mong gawin para sa community [mo]” said Ms. Bugador.
These women ended the video with their advice to other women who are looking to enter or advance in the same field they went.
“Don’t be afraid to take [on] new challenges, stay curious [nalang din], and never underestimate the value of your perspective,” shared Ms. Roberto.
Celebrating National Women’s Month is crucial as it not only honors the remarkable achievements and contributions of women across various fields, but also highlights the ongoing journey toward gender equality. This celebration serves as a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and potential of women, inspiring future generations to continue breaking barriers and striving for a more inclusive and equitable society. By recognizing and valuing the diverse roles women play, we foster a culture of respect, empowerment, and progress for all.
