The role of a Northlink contributor is not just to write a story but to tell a story that spurs a question or emotional response from the readers. That is the lesson learned from a 4-hour session with Heinz R. Orais, Commercial Manager of MPT South by day and resident photographer on other days.

Twenty-eight members of the Northlink listened attentively to Heinz as he shared different composition techniques at Casie’s Restaurant, Malolos, Bulacan last September 19, 2022.

What is meant by ‘Composition’? Composition refers to the way the various elements in a scene are arranged within the frame. As Heinz repeatedly mentioned, these are not hard and fast rules but guidelines. 

The learning session was capped by a photography composition contest using their mobile phones. Showcased here are the ten winning compositions submitted by the Northlink participants.
