Greening the NLEX

By Kathleen O. Sugui

NLEX Corporation continues to strengthen its efforts in building a road to a greener future as it held its tree-planting activity as part of its “Greening the NLEX” program.

Over 500 saplings of Kamuning, Talisay, Dita, and Fire trees were planted by volunteer employees at the Innovation Compound, Dolores, Pampanga last June 24, 2022.

The activity was spearheaded by the President and General Manager, J. Luigi L. Bautista. Around 100 volunteers from CSM, CaBEx, AMD, Operations, Finance, HRAD, and Technology joined the activity.

JLLB said that the Greening the NLEX program has always been a vital component of corporate social responsibility and protecting the environment is part of the culture.

The activity also paved the way for the soft re-launch of Volunteer Employees of North Tollways (VENT), as announced by VENT President, Migs Petilo. CaBEx Head, Jeff Ang, also taught the volunteers the proper way of planting the saplings.

The Greening the NLEX program was launched in 2006 to mitigate the effects of global warming and environmental imbalance. It is being supported and participated in by companies under the MVP Group as well as other public and private organizations.

To date, almost 100,000 trees have been planted along NLEX-SCTEX by NLEX employees since 2006.
