Lingunan Southbound Entry Inaugurated to Ease Valenzuela Traffic

On April 10, 2025, the long-awaited Lingunan Southbound Entry was officially inaugurated. The ceremony was attended by NLEX officials led by Officer-in-Charge Mr. Luis Reñon, representatives from the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) headed by Regulation Division Chief Mr. Joz Ordillano, and the Honorable Mayor of Valenzuela City, Mayor Wes Gatchalian.

The new entry plaza is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion at the Valenzuela/Paso de Blas Interchange, a heavily congested area where multiple local roads converge. This development is seen as a major relief for residents of nearby barangays, including Lawang Bato, Lingunan, Punturin, Canumay East, and Canumay West.

 Mr. Reñon said:

We hope to provide ease for all motorists and aid businesses in facilitating faster movement of goods and services, as we know Valenzuela has made a name as a growing industrial and commercial center. We would like to build other entry/exit ramps such as this to decongest NLEX and adjacent cities/municipalities as part of our expansion plans and widening program.

He proudly noted that while the project was originally scheduled for completion in five months, the NLEX team delivered it ahead of schedule in just four months.

Mayor Wes Gatchalian expressed his gratitude toward NLEX and TRB for their support:

Nais kong pasalamatan si MPTC Chairman Manuel Pangilinan (MVP), ang pamunuan ng NLEX Corporation at Toll Regulatory Board sa kanilang pakikipagtulungan sa proyektong ito,” he said. “Sa pagbubukas nito, magkakaroon ng bago, mas mabilis, at mas convenient na alternatibong daanan para sa mga motorista ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela.

The Lingunan Southbound Entry officially opened to the public on April 24 and is now available for use by motorists.
