Part of our call for responsiveness and excellence is making sure that the communities affected by our project are well taken care of, and that the project will benefit our stakeholders.

The new steel pedestrian walkway was turned over on December 19, 2023.

On December 19, 2023, NLEX Corporation and its contractor for the Candaba 3rd Viaduct Project, Leighton Contractors (Asia) Ltd., turned over the new steel pedestrian walkway bridge connecting Brgy. Tabuyuc and Brgy. San Juan, both under Apalit LGUs. The new walkway bridge is instrumental for NLEX to proceed with dismantling the old one, and to enable the construction of the Candaba 3rd Viaduct Project.

NLEX and LCAL Project Heads, and Brgy. Tabuyuc and Brgy. San Juan counsels attended the handover of the new pedestrian steel bridge.

The event, which was held and hosted by NLEX CSM, features the signing of the MOA between NLEX, represented by NLEX’s Vice President for TDE, Nemy Castillo, and witnessed by Candaba 3rd Viaduct Project Manager Rey Punzalan, and  Apalit LGU, represented  by Vice Mayor Peter Nucom, including Brgy. Chairman Federico Nabong for Tabuyuc and Brgy. Chairman Albert Musa for San Juan. The same MOA signees cut the ribbon for the pedestrian walkway bridge.

Fr. Efren Basco opened the event with an opening prayer and proceeded with the blessing of the pedestrian walkway.

The handover of the pedestrian steel bridge is a milestone event celebrated by NLEX and LCAL Project Teams.

In planning and designing our projects, NLEX project teams, including our CSM, keep in mind the stakeholders to be affected by our project, especially those within the project site and its immediate vicinities. This new pedestrian walkway, being part of the project, is a milestone for the Candaba 3rd Viaduct Project as it not only facilitates construction, but it also shows NLEX’s dedication to its stakeholders.
