NLEX Corporation Breaks Ground on NLEX-C5 Northlink Section 1A

NLEX Corporation commenced construction of the NLEX-C5 Northlink Section 1A on March 4th with a groundbreaking ceremony. This vital infrastructure project will deliver an all-weather, elevated expressway connecting the Mindanao Toll Plaza to Quirino Highway. The expressway, accessible to all vehicle types around the clock, will streamline travel for motorists to and from Novaliches, Quezon City. Section 1A is scheduled for completion within one year.

The complete NLEX-C5 Northlink project will extend 11.3 kilometers, linking Mindanao Avenue with C5/C.P. Garcia, near Katipunan Avenue.

“We are enthusiastic about this project as it contributes to our ongoing efforts to reduce traffic congestion on local roads in the metro. At MPTC, we believe that unhindered mobility fosters better opportunities for jobs, businesses, and economic growth,” stated MPTC President and CEO Jose Ma. Lim.

The event was attended by prominent local officials, including Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian, Vice Mayors Gian Sotto (Quezon City) and Lorie Natividad Borja (Valenzuela), and Representatives Ralph Tulfo (Quezon City 2nd District) and Eric Martinez (Valenzuela 2nd District). Representatives from partner agencies, such as DOTr-TRB, DPWH, and DHSUD-NHA, were also present.

This project is a key component of NLEX Corporation’s expansion strategy, aimed at enhancing connectivity between NLEX, Valenzuela City, and Quezon City. It is expected to drive business growth, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the economic development of the surrounding communities.
