Public service being at the heart of MPTC’s purpose and committed to nation-building and bringing good life to people, NLEX Corporation partnered with Leighton Contractors (Asia) Ltd. for the NLEX-LCAL-NOLCOM Refurbishment of the St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel (Phase I).
The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the chapel refurbishment, signed on March 7, 2023, solidified the partnership between the three parties. In the MOA, NLEX and LCAL committed to refurbishing the chapel, sacristy, public comfort rooms, and replacing the chapel tiles.

The construction will be funded through savings from the Candaba 3rd Viaduct Project, a testament to the fruitful partnership between NLEX and LCAL leading to efficiencies during project construction.
“With this project, it is our hope and prayer that our soldiers will have a more conducive and suitable place where they can commune with our Lord… fit for those who protect our nation,” JLLB said during the MOA signing.
Currently, the procurement of a contractor for the refurbishment work is in its final stages. Once sourced, the refurbishment works will be completed within a three-month construction period.
