Tara Na, NLEX!

Social Distancing at Scenic Views

by Khate Ganio-Sabado and Jaimee Jane S. Faustino

As some of us experienced cabin fever because of the social distancing and quarantine in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, some craved to visit new places to let off some steam or just to enjoy the view with their friends and family.

Our expressways lead us to amazing sceneries in the country, which some of our employees have started to explore as the quarantine restrictions slowly loosened up. Let us discover the places that our NLEX employees recently visited and which are now open and ready for the new normal.

Wala man kaming nadalang pagkain or tubig pero okay pa din.

Bawal is bawal talaga! – PC Jordan Paul Ajose (Traffic Operations)

The unexpected trip happened last July 01, 2020 along with my two buddies. Given that a breathtaking experience was awaiting us, we did not quite know what to expect at first, because it was the peak of the lockdown in the town of San Miguel, Bulacan. It was a 3-hour smooth ride with a checkpoint before the town entry. The overall experience was truly fun and remarkable. And because the place was on lockdown, we enjoyed the river and the facilities to our ourselves. We stayed for at least 5 hours before deciding to go home. Madlum river is a treasure within our backyard. And I could personally recommend this place to someone who’s looking for tranquility and adventure in one place, in the province of Bulacan.” – PC Lawrence Tiquia Traffic Operations.
