Having pets around may help reduce stress, improve heart health, and aid in kids’ emotional and social skills, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Aside from this, interacting with animals has been known to decrease levels of cortisol (a stress-related hormone) and lower blood pressure. Other studies also show that animals can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost your mood.
Acknowledging how pets greatly contribute to our employees’ mental wellness, NLEX Corporation celebrated the National Pet Week last April 24-28, 2023 with the theme, “#NLEXAmeowzing.” Our employees got to showcase their beloved pets’ talents by posting their videos and photos on our Northloop page.
