A leader is someone who makes you want to be a better version of yourself.
I met Ms. Jennifer Supnet Lomerio during our training days as Toll Tellers back in 2004. We both started our career as Toll Teller here at NLEX on February 1, 2005. She was also called by many “Suppy” here in NLEX. Suppy is a Mass Communication at Centro Escolar University.
In her 19 years of stay here at NLEX, many opportunities have come her way. From February 2005 to December 2008, she worked as a Toll Teller of Cluster 2. After 3 years, she was promoted to Senior Toll Teller, a role she held from January 2009 to March 2012.
In April 2012, she became a Toll Supervisor. She was assigned to Cluster 3 (Pampanga Area), where she began to develop her supervisory skills. At that time, she was my immediate superior. I saw her great compassion, which is one of the most powerful and important acts of leadership. The relationships she fosters with people are not just those of a leader but rather resemble those of a friend or sibling.
During the pandemic days, she was one of the supervisors who remained and faced the challenges head-on as she handled one of the peak plazas, Bocaue Barrier.
She has made significant contributions to Toll Operations. Last August 2022, she was honored as an awardee in the MPTC Awards 2022: Circle of Excellence recognition of NLEX Corporation.
Success doesn’t happen overnight.

Last January 2023, after 10 years of being a Toll Supervisor, she was given a more challenging role, from Toll Supervisor of Cluster 2 to Cluster Head of Cluster 1 under the Operations Division. She will oversee the 12 Toll Plaza of Cluster 1.
It feels great when your leader starts in the same position you had because they deeply understand every detail of your experience. You can discuss everything with them and indeed, they can guide you every step of the way. I am very grateful for her unwavering support in every aspect of my work. She believes I can do better, and hearing that from a leader is one of the best feelings.
Ma’am Suppy is not just our Cluster Head, but also a friend, sister, and mother figure to our TPOA/LA. She consistently supports everyone to do their best. She inspires others to be their best selves. You won’t hesitate to approach her because you know she always has your back. Despite her busy schedules, she ensures that everything is in place, not just the performance of the toll plazas but the needs of our people too.
On her personal note, her daughter “EJ” consistently serves as her source of inspiration. Life is tough but her unica hija will always be the source of her strength. When her low spirit sets in, she consistently draws motivation from the thoughts of her daughter and family, compelling her to persevere.
I believe that by being an example, I can bring out the best in my people. It is now my turn to give back to the company all the care, love, and support na ibinibigay nya not only to me but also to my family. Because of NLEX, I was able to give my family a better life.

I asked some members of our team here at Cluster 1 about their experience working with Ma’am Suppy .
John Quincy Adam said, If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” Ma’am Suppy is the embodiment of good leadership. She always motivates and inspires her people. She makes our work easier by teaching us to be organized and focused at work. As someone who has been working with her for quite some time, I can say that she is very hands-on in everything that she does. She always supports and encourages me to engage in different company activities. Because of these experiences, I have gained strength, confidence, and courage to do things I thought I couldn’t do. I am fortunate to be working with her. I have found a good friend and a great mother in her. I value everything I’ve learned from her, and I will apply it not just at work but also in every situation I will be in.
– Florencio Arrojo Jr., Cluster 1 TPOA

I’ve known Ma’am Suppy for more than 20 years. That’s why I know how hardworking she is. Working with your boss-friend is both easy and difficult. Why? Because you know how she works, and she knows yours. How did she encourage me? To be confident in what I do, be accountable for my decision-making, share every little talent I have to help and inspire others, and lastly make the best out of me.
