ISO-n the Prize: NLEX’s Commitment to Excellence

By Ron Cervantes

NLEX Corporation has always advocated excellence, triumphing in numerous ISO certifications since 2018. With the Compliance and Business Excellence Department leading the acquisition of these standards, it would not be a surprise every year if there is a new ISO certification under the company’s belt.

It started with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS), which champions improving customer satisfaction. It helps the organization streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve the overall efficiency of its operations. This standard also promotes a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the whole organization continually enhances its processes and services.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS), helps to improve our environmental performance by reducing waste, conserving resources, and minimizing environmental impacts. It also ensures that the company complies with the relevant environmental laws and regulations, reducing the risk of legal issues and fines.

ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), provides NLEX Corp. a framework to identify and assess occupational health and safety risks. OSHMS implementation enhances safety performance and reduces the likelihood of work-related accidents, injuries, and illnesses. It also promotes a proactive approach to ensure the well-being of employees, fostering a more secure and supportive work environment for everyone.

ISO 39001 Road Traffic Safety Management System (RTSMS), helps to reduce the risk of road traffic accidents, thereby protecting employees and the public. NLEX Corp., with this standard, demonstrates its commitment to road safety and enhances its reputation and public perception. With an increasing volume of road crash incidents, RTSMS promotes a more reliable road for motorists.

ISO 50001 Energy Management System (EnMS), helps to improve the company’s energy performance, leading to reduced energy consumption. Reducing electricity and fuel consumption also means lowering greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to environmental sustainability.

This year, NLEX Corp. has the eagerness to succeed in the re-certification audit of the Integrated Management System (consists of QMS, EMS, and OHSMS), and surveillance audit of the Energy Management System.

On the other hand, the company is also eyeing the ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) certification that will enhance its capability to continue its critical processes during and after disruptive incidents, minimizing downtime and impacts.

With the help of each employee, we can achieve and defend these trophies towards organizational excellence.
