Lunch & Learn: Basic Photography

By Rosy S. Santos

NLEX employees gathered last October 7 for a creative session during our Lunch and Learn: Basic Photography facilitated by Mr. Jovit Caballero, Contracts Administration Assistant Manager from Tollway Development and Engineering Division.

Sir Jovit is an active member of Focus Bulacan and former founder of Expressions Photography Club, shared his passion and expertise in capturing moments through the lens. The session covered essential topics such as camera basics, the exposure triangle, and composition techniques like framing, leading lines, and the rule of thirds.

Participants also learned how to use light to influence the mood, visibility, and detail of their photos, as well as how to tell stories through perspective and timing. The session ended with a photo critique, where attendees received feedback and inspiration to keep improving their craft.

True to the session’s theme, everyone left reminded by our speaker that “photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something extraordinary in an ordinary place.”
