The NLEX Employee Club aims to foster stronger connections among employees by encouraging shared interests. It promotes that every individual has a place at NLEX and promotes a culture of inclusiveness and belonging.

Pet Society is one of the seven vibrant employee clubs for 2025, championing the belief that every animal deserves love, care, and compassion. More than just a club, Pet Society envisions building a structured volunteer network within the company—empowering employees to take part in pet-friendly advocacies and welfare initiatives. Through engaging, pet-centered activities, the club not only strengthens bonds among employees but also promotes a more compassionate, connected, and emotionally enriching workplace.

On May 31, 2025, the Pet Society Club officially kicked off its journey with a heartwarming General Assembly and inaugural outreach program at the Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) in Capas, Tarlac.
This meaningful start wasn’t just about introductions—it was about impact. AKF, a trailblazing non-profit founded in 2002 by the late Charles Leslie Wartenberg, is devoted to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abused and neglected animals. At the forefront of ending the cruel dog meat trade in the Philippines, AKF provided the perfect partner for Pet Society’s mission of compassion, care, and advocacy. It was a day of purpose, pawprints, and powerful beginnings.
Armed with wagging hearts and generous hands, Pet Society brought donations of cleaning supplies, pet food, toys, and more to the Animal Kingdom Foundation. The day kicked off with a guided tour of the shelter, followed by paws-on volunteering activities like dog bathing, dog walking, and plenty of cuddling and playtime with the adorable resident dogs and cats.
In the afternoon, members dove into engaging learning sessions on responsible pet ownership—covering everything from training tips and proper nutrition to animal health care. They also got updates on local shelter efforts, adoption stories, and how to support stray rescues and fundraisers. It was a full day of fun and fur and fueling passion for animal welfare!

Message from Ms. Belle Bugador (Captain of Pet Society):
A BIG THANK YOU once again to all the members and non-members who generously shared their time and resources for the beloved rescue of the Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF).
To the AKF family — Atty. Heidi, Marty, Karl, Isay, the hardworking kennel Kuya’s, and the adorable ambassadogs Precious and Bingo (+3 more dogs), along with the ever-charming ambassacat Margaret — thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful sanctuary of love and healing. It was truly inspiring to see the dedication you pour into caring for animals rescued from abuse and neglect.
We learned so much from your experiences and your efforts toward sustainability. May God continue to bless your foundation and the important work that you do.
And to everyone who supported the very first General Assembly of NLEX Pet Society — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. May your tribe increase a hundredfold! We’re so grateful for your presence and hope to see you again at our next activity!
