Leadership lies in empowering the people and fostering an environment where you put the people in a position to succeed. NLEX Corporation understands the value of empowerment that’s why the company highlighted this topic in quarter one’s LEAD Talks series.

The LEAD Talks people program was held last Feb 26, 2024, at FYM Seafood Restaurant, Valenzuela attended by twenty young leaders from different Divisions. Atty Aris Mejia, Assistant Vice President of the TDE Contracts Administration Department and the current head of ROW Central Head was the LEAD Speaker for the topic, LEADS Leading Through Empowerment.

Atty Aris highlighted the importance of being accountable to your team members when you empower them to do a project or task whether they succeed or most especially when they fail. He shared this quote from Winston Churchill, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.”

He also shared during his talk how you define success in the workplace, the quality of successful employees, the importance of employee engagement, and key factors contributing to employee success.
Atty Aris relates his love for cooking to how leaders should empower the people. He said that both aspects need to be elevated. The simple everyday dish you are cooking can be elevated to give new savor and taste. Same with leadership, a leader should elevate his approach on how to empower the people.
Here’s the recipe shared by Atty Aris on how to set people up for success:
