Fun at the Connector

By Ana Riza S. Bringas

NLEX Corporation held the Bike Ride & Fun Run last March 26 at the soon-to-be-opened first section of the NLEX Connector Road project from C-3 Road in Caloocan City to Manila. Around 110 employees joined the wellness activity, and were among the first to witness NLEX’s newest pride before motorists are allowed to traverse the elevated toll road.

The program started with the blessing of the Connector Road by Rev. Fr. Efren Basco. Joining him in the blessing were Operations Management Vice President West Dionisio, and Legal Services First Vice President Atty. Joseph Marigomen.

The participants were classified into different categories: Male & Female 5-km Run, Male & Female 10-km Run, and 10km Bike Ride.

The event’s objective is to maintain physical fitness and overall health and wellness of employees through Onelife program initiatives while promoting the NLEX Connector Road.

A brief orientation was given by Pio Tumpang followed by a warm-up exercise.

The starting area and the finish line were at the C3 ramp. The Bike Ride and Fun Run started at exactly 6 am, hosted by HRAD’s Macky Vitug.
